Alternative Fuel Vehicle Institute (AFVi) will hold its 2008 Conference and Expo May 11-14 in Las Vegas. The conference will contain 50 sessions and feature over 200 leading alternative fuel and technology leaders, AFVi said.

Session topics will include legislation, funding, product availability, plug-in hybrids, ports, EPA engine standards, biofuels updates and electric drive advances.

“We are at a crossroads in the history of transportation,” said AFVi executive director Annalloyd Thomason. “Fossil fuel based mobility is giving way to new demands for greater fuel efficiency, cleaner vehicles, and alternatives to petroleum. Those hardest hit are the fleet managers trying to navigate this new terrain. This conference presents the available options that will steer us to our transportation future.”

The conference will feature Fleet Day—where any representative from a fleet with ten or more vehicles is admitted free--on May 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Public Day, in which the general public receives free admission on May 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Pre-registration is open through May 2nd.
