Police are looking for the driver of a semi that spilled a load of organic potting soil on eastbound I-70 near Wadsworth, CO, Monday.
The soil created a road slick causing 10 vehicles to crash in morning traffic. Seven people were injured in the accident, none seriously.
“A semi truck traveling eastbound on I-70 near Carr Street leaked some type of organic soil from the vehicle resulting in a half-mile-long ‘slick’ on the roadway causing motorcycles to lose control and a number of car accidents,” Wheat Ridge police spokesman Lt. Mark Cooney told Fox News Denver.
I-70 was closed at Kipling St. for two-and-a-half hours during the morning commute and there were major delays as motorists tried to make their way into Denver from the west side of the metro area.
Wheat Ridge police and the Colorado State Patrol said they would like to speak to the driver of the truck that dumped the soil.
