PHH FirstFleet is expanding its private fleet services with a new fuel card and maintenance services in an effort to create a “one stop shop, a la carte menu” for its customers.
“There’s a service continuum here, where we need to give fleets not just an opportunity to lease a truck, but the option to maintain and fuel it in the manner that best suits them,” Alex Popov, vp of fleet services, told FleetOwner. “It’s about taking all the pieces of fleet operations, laying them out before the fleet, and letting them choose the options that work best for them.”
On the fuel side, PHH FirstFleet now offers a branded fuel card for trucks with a national network that includes over 7,000 truck stops and 50,000 retail sites for diesel fuel. The card program features consolidated billing, comprehensive reporting, fraud control, and cost management capabilities, said Popov.
PHH FirstFleet’s maintenance offerings are geared to private truck fleets in all weight classes, he explained, and provided via a national network of more than 9,000 locations in the US and Canada, including major OEM parts and service suppliers.
A key piece of the maintenance network is the company’s corps of ASE-certified truck specialists on duty 24/7, who help verify the necessity of repairs requested for a fleet’s vehicles and compile repair data..
“Not only are we helping the fleet manage repair orders, we’re collecting data for them that helps them negotiate better pricing on repairs and make better strategic decisions down the road in terms of vehicle specs, scheduling maintenance, etc.,” Popov told FleetOwner.
“Fleet managers interested in truly getting the most value from their trucks and equipment need to take a holistic approach to their costs,” added Mike Lewis, PHH FirstFleet president & gm. “That can be hard to do when their costs are spread among a variety of individual suppliers, such as banks, maintenance suppliers, and fuel card providers. [Putting] all of these services in one place, with experienced consultants dedicated to ensuring they get optimum performance from their fleets, are important elements for effective lifecycle management and driver productivity.”
