Pete Selleck, currently president of Michelin Truck Tire worldwide and based at global headquarters in Clermont-Ferrand, France, is returning to the U.S. to take over as chairman & president of Michelin North America from Richard "Dick" Wilkerson, who plans to retire by year’s end.

Wilkerson, a 31-year veteran of the company, has served as Michelin North America’s top executive since August 2008 and will become chairman emeritus upon his retirement.

Selleck, 55, has been with Michelin for 29 years. He has served as president of Michelin’s global Truck Tire business since January 2006. In that role, Selleck implemented the Michelin Durable Technologies innovation program, including the rollout of the X-One tires in North America. Additionally, on his watch truck tire plants in Europe and North America were modernized, while major capacity expansions in China, India and Brazil were launched.

He has also led the company's passenger and light-truck replacement tire division for Europe. Selleck’s last prior assignment in North America was COO of Michelin Americas Small Tires from 1996 to 2003.
Selleck holds degrees from the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he studied civil engineering, and from Clemson University, where he earned a Masters in business administration. He began his career as an Army officer in the 4th Infantry Div, where he served as a platoon leader and a company commander.
He joined Michelin in 1982, initially holding various positions in Michelin’s Greenville, SC, plant.
