Drawing attention to the Air Force Reserve is vital to recruitment efforts. Keesler AFB's new fifth wheel hauler graphics are helping recruit interest in the Reserve in the tri-state Gulf Coast region. The full-vehicle trailer graphic, which coordinates with the graphics on a Ford F550 Super Duty used to pull the hauler, is designed as a “three-dimensional promotional billboard.” Inside the hauler is a miniature C-130J aircraft.
Each side of the trailer has a different design supporting the 403rd Wing. One side has a radar image highlighting the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron — the famous “hurricane hunters.” A display on the other side of the trailer focuses on the 815th Airlift Squadron with images of planes and military personnel, along with the image of a reservist holding a single light at the back of the trailer under the tagline “Everyday people — America's Heroes.”
The wrap has also helped the Air Force Reserve slash maintenance efforts by 80%, cutting washing, waxing and exterior maintenance time from 10 hours a month to less than two.
