Not surprisingly, given the state of trucking today, Barr-Nunn Transportation, Inc. is excited to be celebrating its 27th year in business. The truckload carrier was formed in 1982 by Bob Sturgeon as Sturgeon Truck Lines with 10 trucks. He later bought Barr-Nunn Transportation and merged the two companies.
Today Barr-Nunn serves the Midwest, Southeast and Northeast with a fleet that has grown to over 500 trucks and 1600 trailers. Headquartered in Granger, IA, it also operates terminals in Charlotte, NC and Manchester, PA.
“The daily focus, dedication and hard work of each and every member of our team, whether on the road or in the office or shop, is the reason Barr-Nunn is able to celebrate 27 successful years,” pointed out Rene Beacom, president. “We are proud of our past accomplishments and because of this same great team of people, are looking forward to the challenging and exciting opportunities which lie ahead."
Beacom noted that Barr-Nunn is committed to protecting the environment with a continued focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and is a proud recipient of the highest rating given to carriers by the EPA SmartWay program.
