Tom Thayer, president & CEO of Idealease is the new chairman of the Truck Renting and Leasing Assn. (TRALA) for the 2009-2010 term.

Elected to the position at TRALA's annual meeting March 12, Thayer plans to focus on several key issues for truck renting and leasing firms-- protection from unfair fees and taxes, overly burdensome lease accounting standards and attacks on the repeal of federal vicarious liability laws.

Thayer's past achievements in the industry include being named North American International Dealer of the Year in 2005 and being a recipient of both International's "Circle of Excellence" and Idealease's "Ideal Gold” award.
