As the economic turnaround takes hold, Truck-Lite is positioning itself with the hiring of 100 full-time employees, and more than 100 temporary employees at its Pennsylvania and New York facilities.

The company also announced that it will add up to 100 more positions in the next few months. The positions include manufacturing and office positions.

“Achieving this type of milestone is attributed to not only being on the forefront with advanced technology, allowing us to launch new innovative products, but by also possessing dedicated employees who were determined to see us through a few tough years,” said John Cecco, vp-operations.

The reason for the hiring spree, the company said, is stronger customer demand and increased build rates. Truck-Lite said truck, trailer and body builds are expected to show at least a 20% increase in 2010.

“We are seeing the affects of a recovering supply and demand process within the industry and our quality standards have also allowed us to maintain a long-term partnership with the military,” Cecco added.

Truck-Lite recently received a $40 million military contract to supply 11,000 LED route clearance vehicle kits.
