Volvo Trucks North America will be the sole sponsor of American Trucking Assns.’ 2009 America’s Road Team. The national highway safety outreach program speaks to government officials, lawmakers, and students about trucking and highway safety issues.

The small group of professional truck drivers known as Road Team Captains selected for the program are chosen for their driving skills, safety records and desire to speak to the public about highway safety.

“Volvo is extremely proud to sponsor such an important safety and image building program for the trucking industry,” said Scott Kress, Volvo Trucks senior vp– sales & marketing. “America’s Road Team and its captains put a human face on trucking. They educate audiences about the industry, its importance to society and our dedication to safety on the nation’s highways. Through these Road Team Captains, the general public gets to know the men and women behind the wheel of millions of trucks.”
