UPS has announced that John Fain, director of domestic sales & marketing for UPS Freight, the package delivery company’s LTL trucking arm, is now also responsible for global sales & marketing.

A long-time executive of Overnite Transportation who stayed with the company after UPS bought it in 2005 and renamed it UPS Freight, Fain is charged with expanding the carrier’s LTL marketing efforts into Canada, Mexico, Guam, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In addition, he is responsible for cross-selling UPS Freight across all UPS global supply chain and small package customers.

Fain joined Overnite Transportation in 1982 as the firm’s general counsel and subsequently served in a number of positions, including vp-strategic planning, vp-Southeast Region, and senior vp-operations.
