U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) published in the October 27 Federal Register a schedule for the mandatory use of the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) manifests at land ports of entry.
Truck carriers entering the U.S. through all ports in the states of Washington and Arizona, and through the North Dakota ports of Pembina, Neche, Walhalla, Maida, Hannah, Sarles and Hansboro, will be required to file electronic manifests through ACE beginning January 25, 2007.
Start dates for the remaining land ports will be published in the Federal Register 90 days in advance. For more information, go to www.cbp.gov/modernization.
