Diesel up 7.5 cents to $2.626

The national average price of a gallon of diesel jumped 7.5 cents to $2.626 for the week ending March 4, according to the Energy Information Administration.

Prices went up in all regions except the one that needed a price break the most, California, which saw prices decline 1.4 cents to $2.897. In spite of this, California remained the most expensive region in which to purchase diesel. The Gulf Coast and the Rocky Mountain regions had the largest increase, each rising 9 cents to $2.587 and $2.658, respectively. In spite of an 8.5-cent jump, the Lower Atlantic was the cheapest place to purchase diesel, at $2.568 a gallon.
