FedEx Corp. is beefing up its FedEx Express same-day shipping offerings, offering same-say service for freight shipments and a new intra-city service in select markets.

Urgent freight shipments weighing more than 150 lbs. can now be delivered on the same calendar day, backed by a money-back guarantee and distance-based pricing, said T. Michael Glenn, FedEx executive vp-market development.

The company is also adding FedEx SameDay City service for parcel or palletized freight for domestic shipments moving same-day within a 25-mile radius of ten metropolitan markets, including: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Dallas, Chicago, Memphis, Boston, New York, Washington D.C. and Atlanta. Lower intra-city rates also will be offered for customers.

“Customers need to be confident that whether they are shipping a critical legal document or a large part to keep an assembly line moving, FedEx has a same-day solution to meet their need,” said Glenn.
