Fleet management software developer TMW Systems Inc. has acquired TMT Software Co., one of the largest fleet maintenance software providers

Fleet management software developer TMW Systems Inc. has acquired TMT Software Co., one of the largest fleet maintenance software providers. Both are privately held companies and terms of the acquisition were not released. However TMT said that combined revenue for the two companies over the last 12 months as $56 million.

The two developers have worked together closely since 1998, offering integration between the two systems and sharing more than 235 customers, according to TMW. Previously, TMW had sold the TMT Transman maintenance product under it’s own Shop Link brand name.

Over 1,300 customers use the TMW fleet management software, while there are approximately 550 fleets using the TMT Transman products to manage their maintenance operations, according to a TMW press release.

TMT president Rick Rosenberg will join the new owner and serve as general manager of newly created TWM Fleet Maintenance Software. Rosenberg will remain based in the former TMT offices in Durham, NC, as will the entire support and service staff for Transman, he told Fleet Owner. “It will be business as usual (for Transman users), but now we’ll have the extensive resources of TMW to help grow the system even faster,” he said.

“TMT customers will benefit from complementary products and the resources of North America’s largest provider of enterprise software to the transportation industry,” David W. Wangler, president and CEO of TMW Systems, said in the company’s release. “TMW customers can look forward to even more robust fleet maintenance software solutions.”

The company has also announced that it will extend its Lifetime Support Policy to the Transman products, offer continued support and maintenance to current customers.

Wachovia Capital Partners and Peppertree Capital Management acquired TMW Systems from its founder Tom Weisz in 2005. The company then Systems acquired Maddocks , developer of the Truckmate fleet management suite, last September.
