Danny Watson, an 11-year veteran of Fikes Truck Line, has been promoted to the position of director of safety for the company. Watson has held various safety and compliance positions with Fikes, a 100% owner-operator company specializing in open-deck freight.

Prior to joining Fikes, Watson spent 12 years with the Arkansas Dept. of Transportation.

“There’s a great deal of satisfaction in doing this job,” said Watson. “It’s good to know that you’re having an impact on reducing or eliminating accidents, keeping people safe. It’s a never-ending challenge to be safe, stay on top on regulations and educate people as best we can.”
