Westbound Bay Bridge into SF to be closed Presidents’ Day weekend

Feb. 6, 2012

Work on the San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge will result in lane and ramp closures and the entire upper deck westbound towards San Francisco is slated to be closed from Friday Feb. 17 at 8 p.m. to Tuesday Feb. 21 at 5 a.m.

Motorists will not be able to drive on the upper deck towards San Francisco during this closure but the lower deck toward the East Bay will remain open.

It is recommended that drivers allow extra time for travel and use of other bridges, including the Golden Gate Bridge, the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, the San Mateo- Hayward Bridge and the Dumbarton Bridge. Vehicle access between San Francisco and Yerba Buena Island/Treasure Island will be maintained during the closure.

Weather could delay the reopening of the westbound deck or postpone the closure to another weekend, state highway officials said.

Bay Bridge ramp and lane closure times are approximate. Those using the bridge are encouraged to check at this website: http://baybridgeinfo.org/?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=FacebookAd&utm_campaign=BayBridgeClosure12 for the most up-to-date information.
