Xata names chief marketing & strategy officer

Xata Corp. has appointed  Scott Meyer chief marketing & strategy officer. Meyer was promoted from his  position as senior vice president-- marketing. In addition, the company has  hired Steve Chamberlain as executive vice president-- field operations.

Meyer will be responsible for brand management, lead  generation, product marketing, market development and marketing communications.  He has more than 30 years of management experience, including stints as CEO of  Shandwick International and chief marketing officer at Lawson Software.

Chamberlain joins Xata from Ecova, a provider of total  energy, telecom and sustainability services, where he was senior vice president--  sales & client management.

“Both Scott and Steve are excellent leaders with several  decades of experience,” said Jay Coughlan,   Xata CEO. “Scott has already helped us cement our position as an industry  leader, and I’m confident he and Steve will both play crucial roles in helping  us attract new customers, retain our existing customers and sell the  cutting-edge products and services our customers have come to expect from  Xata.”
