Online university for driver training

May 23, 2012

Interactive training programs for truckload and LTL drivers are now available from the newly launched Equinox University for Carriers, an offshoot of the bookkeeping and consulting firm Equinox Owner-Operator Solutions.

The course are designed using the latest adult-learning techniques, according to Equinox. They can be custom configured to a fleet’s specific requirements, offering an efficient way to bring new drivers onboard, retrain existing drivers and provide continuing education for all, the company said.

“The diversity of interactive and online courses in our catalog, plus our ability to configure learning applications for a carrier’s specific need, has allowed us to teach drivers in a way that helps them truly learn and retain the material” said Rebecca Foster, eLearning manager of Equinox Owner-Operator Solutions.

Currently the most popular courses in its catalog include Safety, Logs, Fuel Management, Bookkeeping, and Using Technology On The Road, which covers the use of Wi-Fi, mobile apps and using a laptop, according to Equinox. Other popular courses, they said, include Living Healthy On The Road, Creating A Budget and How To Get Out Of Debt.
