Carriers align to expand services

Aug. 6, 2012

G&P Trucking Co. and Bunch Transport have formed an alliance that will expand the service offerings of both companies, beginning today.

G&P is a Gaston, SC-based carrier providing truckload, intermodal, dedicated routes, warehousing, transloading, third-party logistics and brokerage services.

“Some carriers make tons of promises and deliver on none,” said Clifton Parker, president & general manager of G&P. “Both of our companies were built on very strong relationships with our customers and a commitment to taking care of the employees that serve our customer base.  Both G&P Trucking and Bunch Transport have experienced years of success following those two core values. Our combined years of experience will benefit both our customers and our drivers.”

Combined, the two companies will have 700 power units and nearly 2,200 trailers at their disposal. The alliance will offer customers access to international shipping, trailer tracking and more locations for added shipping flexibility, said Parker.

“We are pleased to join in a strategic alliance with G&P Trucking” said Rich Bundschuh, president of Bunch Transport. “The strength of our companies coupled with the level of dedication and commitment to our staff and customers, is a win-win for everyone.”

Bunch Transport provides transportation services to the 48 contiguous states, and has grown in the past 25 years from one to more than 250 trailers.
