The Indiana Dept. of Transportation (INDOT) announced that beginning Aug. 27, a portion of State Road 157 near Bloomfield and State Road 45 in eastern Greene County will be closing for repair and construction work.
Crews will be closing S.R. 157 for a structure replacement project. The road will be closed to through traffic; however local traffic will have access to the point of closure, 5.7 miles north of S.R. 54. The roadway will be closed 24 hours a day and is scheduled to re-open to traffic by the end of October.
The official detour will route traffic on S.R. 67, S.R 57 and S.R. 54.
S.R. 45 will close to allow for construction of a new connector road and interchange for the I-69 construction project. No through vehicle traffic will be allowed, according to INDOT spokesperson Cher Elliott.
S.R. 45 will be closed from the junction of State Road 445 (S.R. 445) to the junction of State Road 54 (S.R. 54). Crews will begin work at approximately 7 a.m., and it is anticipated to re-open to traffic by the end of September, weather permitting.
The official detour will follow S.R. 445 and S.R. 54. Drivers should use caution while utilizing the detour as high volumes of traffic will be using this route, Elliot said.
