Atlas launches logistics subsidiary

Nov. 6, 2012

Seeking to broaden its suite of logistics services, Atlas World Group has launched a non-asset based, full-service third party logistics provider (3PL) subsidiary. Atlas World Group (AWG) Logistics will be run by Matt Van der Linde, who will serve as vice president and general manager.

The subsidiary will offer customized supply chain solutions that integrate transportation, warehousing and installation through technology and industry resources.

“We are constantly seeking innovative ways to build our business to benefit our customers, and we believe the hiring of Matt to lead the AWG Logistics team is another step in the right direction for Atlas,” said Jack Griffin, president & COO of Atlas World Group.

Van der Linde has experience in business development and management positions in the distribution, consumer goods and high-tech sectors. He has spent the past 10 years as a senior executive in the transportation and logistics industry, Atlas said.

He will also oversee the Atlas Specialized Transport Group (STG), an asset-based, less-than-truckload carrier of AWG Logistics.

“With our renowned white glove service, we’re bringing a higher level of quality to the 3PL industry with AWG Logistics,” said Van der Linde. “The Atlas name is synonymous with quality, and customers can expect superior supply chain solutions and improved efficiency.”
