Pegasus Transportation celebrates 25 years

Feb. 4, 2013

Pegasus Transportation celebrated 25 years in business with a big party recently at the company’s headquarters in Louisville, KY.

Company president Gary Hanke and his business partner started the trucking fleet with just two trucks and six employees. The fleet has grown to operate 235 trucks throughout the U.S.

“The exciting part for us is that we have 400 employees today,” Hanke said in WDRB News report.

Pegasus continues to grow and will soon open a second terminal in South Louisville in addition to its current terminal and office on English Station Road in Eastern Jefferson County.

The fleet’s biggest struggle lately is finding qualified drivers, Hanke said.

“Our biggest challenge is finding good quality drivers in spite of the economic conditions today and the high unemployment, we know that it can be a difficult job and understand the demands of driving on the road but we are a bit surprised that we cannot find enough drivers.”
