Closures slated for major Los Angeles highway

One of the major traffic corridors through the Santa Monica Mountains in Los Angeles will be closed during daytime hours weekdays and Saturdays for a month beginning next week for work on a water line.  

The Los Angeles Dept. of Water and Power said that Coldwater Canyon Ave. will be closed Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. from March 23 to April 25 for replacement of segments of a 99-year-old, 60-inch-diameter water line.

During non-working hours, Coldwater Canyon Ave. will have one lane open in each direction from 7 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Monday through Friday and after 6 p.m. on Saturday.The closures will run from Ventura Blvd. to Mullholland Dr.

Coldwater Canyon carries traffic between the San Fernando Valley and western areas of Los Angeles.
