South Carolina motor carrier to expand port operations

May 31, 2013

G&P Trucking, a Gaston, SC-based trucking company, has purchased 10 acres of land in Greer, SC, to expand its port operations.

The purchase is in response to a new inland port that the South Carolina Ports Authority will open later this year. G&P president Clifton Parker said the inland port will give the carrier more opportunities to serve customers.

“The opening of the inland port in Greer will mean that shipping containers can be transferred directly to our trucks and delivered to our upstate customers,” said Parker.

“Expanding our presence in Greer gives us the opportunity to improve drayage services and offer more flexibility for our customers,” he added.

G&P already operates a 14-acre, full-service terminal in Greer.
