Ohio Trucking University has been launched by the Ohio Trucking Assn. (OTA) and Trincon Group, a national transportation industry advisory and technology firm.
The University will conduct classes on a comprehensive series of business education offerings for industry leaders and trucking company executives.
“We all know the industry is changing – the uncertain business climate; increasing regulation; ever increasing costs that continue to rise faster than rates; demands for additional services and transparency from shippers and consignees; new technologies and environmental concerns; driver shortages; and capacity issues – all make it difficult for our members, and the entire industry,” said Larry Davis, president of OTA.
Starting in July, the Ohio Trucking University, will be offering programs covering a broad range of topics on such issues as:
-
Business planning
-
Opportunities for increased productivity and profitability
-
Driver hiring and retention
-
Workman’s compensation
-
The impact of regulatory changes
“In today’s changing and every more complex business climate, it is critical that firms arm themselves with the information they need to operate effectively and profitably. Over the past thirty years, we have witnessed the changes that have occurred in the industry, and how those changes have impacted the ability of firms to compete.” said Trincon president Duff H. Swain. “We at Trincon are excited about the opportunity to work with the OTA on this critically important initiative.”
