NAFA to host webinar on right-sizing fleets

July 16, 2013

NAFA Fleet Management Assn. is offering a free webinar on Wednesday, July 24, on right-sizing fleets. “Right-Sizing Your Fleet Without Feeling The Pinch: Expert Advice on Where to Cut, How to Cut, and What You’ll Save in the Process,” will take place at 1 p.m. (EST). It is sponsored by Agile Access Control and is free to NAFA members and NAFA affiliates.  Registration for non-members is $25.00.

Webinar attendees will learn about the top five ingredients of a successful right-sizing initiative, including: a project champion, metrics & benchmarks, policy, a marketing plan, and the “secret ingredient.” The webinar will also address the barriers to right-sizing as reported by many fleet managers.

The webinar is led by Ed Smith, president and co-founder of Agile Access Control, and Matt Wade, the vice president of Agile Access Control. Smith, an expert in fleet right-sizing, created and led the development of FleetCommander fleet and motor pool management software. With the help of his team, Smith has overseen the implementation of FleetCommander technology to right-size fleets and manage the sharing of thousands of vehicles throughout the U.S., and worldwide, including vehicles in Canada, Central America, Asia, and Africa.   He specializes in the analysis of vehicle utilization data for the accurate planning and execution of right-sizing initiatives.

Wade has over a decade’s worth off experience working with fleets within state and city governments as well as within the private sector. He has personally been involved with the deployment of enterprise fleet solutions for more than 100 motor pool operations, and is very familiar with the challenges faced by fleets, having spoken to hundreds of fleet managers throughout the U.S. and abroad over the past decade. He is skilled in fleet automation project management, requirements elicitation, data gathering, data cleanup and manipulation, and technical support. He is also recognized for his development of quality assurance initiatives.

The monthly webinar series is just one of many exclusive membership benefits for NAFA Members.  The series has run for several years and has included topics such as “Getting Control of Fuel Costs”, “Five Best Fleet Practices When Using A GPS Fleet Tracking Solution”, “What You Didn’t Realize Is Missing From Your Driver Policy”, “How To Find And Remarket Your Surplus Vehicles Without The Pain” and “Natural Gas For My Fleet – Is It For Me And How To Get Here To There.”

Advance registration for the webinar is required and must be made by Tuesday, July 23.  To register, visit https://www.fleeted.org/reference-type/webinar/59/register
