Schneider National is opening a new facility in Phoenix and will be adding 200 truck drivers in the state.
The new facility, 4044 W. Lower Buckeye Road, is scheduled to open in September and will support Schneider’s growing customer base utilizing its Western Regional service, the company said.
Schneider said it has experienced over 40% growth in load volume in Arizona in the past year. The new Phoenix location will complement Schneider’s base of operations and customer service in the West, which includes facilities in Fontana, CA; French Camp, CA; North Salt Lake City, Utah and Portland, OR. Schneider’s Western Regional offering serves customers in 11 western states.
Schneider is hiring both experienced drivers and driving school graduates and is offering sign-on bonuses of up to $5,000.
Most drivers will work in Schneider’s Western Regional division, enjoy weekly time-at-home and can earn over $50,000 per year with complete benefits, the company pointed out.
Driving school graduates are eligible for up to $6,000 in tuition reimbursement.
Lease opportunities with Schneider are also available to owner-operators throughout the state. Owner-operators are eligible for up to $7,500 in a lease-on incentive. Both percent of revenue and mileage lease options are available to owner-operators. The percent-of-revenue lease option enables owner-operators to select loads from Schneider’s load board and dispatch themselves, ensuring maximum control and flexibility for small business owners.
“Customers continue to explore ways to improve their supply chains, and regional service is a smart solution,” said Dave Geyer, senior vice president and general manager of Schneider Van Truckload. “Our Western Regional service — which specializes in shipments that are 500 miles or less — was the first to launch in 2008. Customers, drivers and owner-operators have seen tremendous value, and expansion in the West will enable our growth.”
Regional miles now make up nearly half of Schneider Van Truckload’s total miles.
