Groups to collaborate on driver health initiatives

Oakstone Publishing and the Healthy Trucking Assn. of America (HTAA) have reached agreement to collaborate on a variety of projects designed to give HTAA members access to Oakstone’s educational resources.

Oakstone is a provider of multimedia education for healthcare professionals as well as corporate health and wellness resources.

“HTAA is focused on being a change agent in the wellness of the millions of drivers operating commercial vehicles,” said Bill Gordon, HTAA’s executive director. “We are very pleased to have a company of Oakstone's caliber on board as a major partner. Our alliance with Oakstone will have a significant ability to positively impact the health and well-being of truckers.”

Oakstone offers several learning solutions that support the health and wellness of commercial motor vehicle drivers, including:

• Personal Best. These tools offer complete customization and private label capabilities that reinforce brand recognition and drive wellness program engagement, as well as address a full range of topics – health and wellness, safety, productivity, shift work, and personal money management. Studies indicate that investing in wellness programs, such as those offered by Personal Best, shows a return on investment between $1.49 and $13 per dollar spent.
• NRCME Plus Online Training System. A 100% online course that meets the US Department of Transportation's training prerequisite for healthcare providers to take the federal exam and become certified to perform DOT driver physical exams.
