LA’s I-405 Freeway to incur key ramp closures for months

Major on/off ramps for the I-405 Freeway on Los Angeles' Westside will be closed for months as part of the ongoing Sepulveda Pass Improvement Project.

Sunset Boulevard ramps to and from the northbound 405 will stay closed for about four months and the eastbound Wilshire Boulevard onramp to the northbound I-405 has closed for reconstruction until mid-November.

Detour information for westbound Sunset Boulevard:

  • Daytime: Northbound 405 Freeway off-ramp to westbound Wilshire Boulevard, to northbound Sepulveda Boulevard, to eastbound Sepulveda Way, to westbound Sunset Boulevard. 
  • Alternate: Moraga Drive off-ramp, to southbound Sepulveda Boulevard, right on Church Lane to Sunset Boulevard.
  • Nighttime: Northbound 405 Freeway off-ramp to westbound Wilshire Boulevard, right on northbound San Vicente Boulevard, right onto north Barrington Avenue, left onto westbound Sunset Boulevard.

Detour information to Eastbound Sunset::

  • Northbound 405 Freeway off-ramp to eastbound Wilshire Boulevard, to northbound Veteran Avenue to eastbound Sunset Boulevard.

Detour Information for the Wilshire Boulevard ramp:

  • Daytime: Southbound Sepulveda Boulevard to westbound Santa Monica Boulevard to northbound I-405.
  • Alternate: Southbound Sepulveda Boulevard to westbound Pico Boulevard to northbound Cotner Avenue to northbound I-405.
  • Nighttime: Southbound Federal Avenue to eastbound Santa Monica Boulevard to northbound I-405.
  • Alternate: Southbound Westwood Boulevard to westbound Santa Monica Boulevard to northbound I-405.
