Osiecki to head ATA’s legislative efforts

Jan. 10, 2014

Dave Osiecki, senior vice president of policy and regulatory affairs for the American Trucking Assns., also will oversee the organization’s legislative affairs efforts, ATA President Bill Graves announced. The move comes following the recent departure of Mary Phillips, who had been senior vice president of legislative affairs. Phillips will restart the independent legislative affairs practice she headed before she joined ATA.

“Dave Osiecki has been a stalwart for the trucking industry since coming to ATA in 1996,” Graves said. “His work leading ATA’s policy and regulatory affairs team has been exemplary and given an ever more complex web of issues our industry is confronted with, it only makes sense to bring our policy and legislative groups together to improve efficiency and coordination.”

Osiecki said he was excited to take on a new challenge. “It provides me with a greater opportunity to lead, learn and grow within this great organization.”

Over the past 18 years, Osiecki has served in several progressively more responsible roles at ATA, including senior safety engineer, executive director of two conferences and his current position, which he has held since 2010. Among the initiatives he has been directly involved in were ATA’s efforts to shape trucking regulations; ATA’s policy priorities for several highway bills; and the crafting the association’s 18-point progressive safety agenda.
