Kane is Able, a third-party logistics provider based in Scranton, PA, has named Ed Shoemaker senior director of operations. Shoemaker will have responsibility for the operation of Kane’s 12 distribution facilities.
Shoemaker joined Kane in 2005 as a distribution center manager for customers Kraft Foods and Old Mother Hubbard/WellPet in Mechanicsburg, PA. He transitioned to the engineering department in 2009 where he was responsible for project management, solutions design and RFPs, championed sustainability programs, and served on the WMS implementation team of Manhattan Associates software.
In 2012, he was promoted to senior director of engineering solutions.
Shoemaker has nearly 30 years of logistics experience, having worked at Jacobson Companies, Penske Logistics and Genco before joining Kane.
