The PrePass weigh station bypass service is now operating at two new Texas weigh stations. The service, which offers e-screening and pre-clearance to commercial vehicles, is now being used at weigh stations on both the northbound and southbound of I-35, approximately five miles south of Devine, TX.

Offered by HELP Inc., the non-profit public/private partnership, PrePass is also operational at three additional sites, located at New Waverly northbound I-45 and Riviera northbound and southbound on US-77. Last year, the service provided significant benefits to the 60,569 trucks that successfully bypassed. More than 5,000 hours were saved, representing $24,228 in fuel savings and $525,799 in operational cost savings, HELP said.

“In Texas, we know how vital public/private partnerships are and we applaud HELP on its commitment to our state and our industry,” said John D. Esparza, president and CEO of the Texas Trucking Association. “The expansion of this technology speaks volumes for the efficiency and focus on safety that Texans can expect from the trucking industry through HELP's investment.”

Nationally, PrePass bypass services are available at 304 operational weigh stations and inspection facilities in 31 states, with a number of additional sites under construction or in the planning stage in several other states.
