Here is what is happening around the world of trucking today:

    • Nissan has taken the wraps off its “Project Titan” pickup in a new video. The design of the truck was crowd-sourced, says Motor Authority.
    • State Farm is now really there for you when you have an auto issue in Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania DOT has sold a “public-private” sponsorship for one of its highway safety trucks, according to WESA radio.
    • A city councilor in Reynoldsburg, OH, is opposed to a trucking company opening up a location on a vacant lot in the city, even though the lot is in an area that, in his words, is “in a section of the city that needs help.” The Reynoldsburg News has more.
    • Thieves in California are stealing biodiesel grease. To combat that, the state has enacted several new laws, says the San Diego Union-Tribune.
    • The Michigan DOT is proposing road improvements, including re-routing trucks, around the Tulip City Truck Stop following an accident that killed a beloved teacher. WZZM 13 TV has the details.
    • The Bismark Tribune reports on the growing use of compressed natural gas in the area.
    • Port truck drivers in Los Angeles have told a city pension board they should review their investment in a trucking company the drivers say fired them for requesting back wages. The Los Angeles Times is covering the issue.
    • Residents in Norfolk, VA, are saying no more after the mayor proposed extending the hours trucks could use Hampton Boulevard for travel. Currently, trucks are not allowed on the route after 4 p.m., says the Virginian Pilot.
