Greensboro, NC-based truckload carrier Epes Transport System has instituted a 6% pay increase for both its company drivers and independent contractors.
“We are pleased to announce this pay increase and additional regional job offerings,” said company president Britt Colley. “We continue to balance and make improvements to our network to ensure more home time along with improving driver productivity,” he added.
Along with the hike in driver pay, Epes Transport has also increased its guarantee pay and opened up several new positions that it said offer great home time for dedicated, local and regional drivers.
The carrier also offers a “student-trainee refresher” program for recent driving-school graduates and drivers with minimal experience. To enter this program, drivers must have at least three months of OTR experience in the past year, be a recent graduate from an approved school, have a valid Class A CDL, stable work history and a clean driving record.
Epes Transport System is the largest privately owned trucking company in North Carolina. It fields some 1150 power units in providing service throughout the eastern half of the U.S. and in the Southwest.
