Acuity adds new trucking specialist position

San Diego, CA. In recognition of the company’s commitment to the trucking industry, Acuity announced today that they have created a new position, that of trucking specialist. Cliff Johnson, an industry veteran, will fill the role. The announcement was made at a press conference here at the 2014 ATA Management Conference & Exhibition.

Johnson will work with Acuity’s trucking clients. The property and casualty insurer maintains a team dedicated to the trucking industry, publishes a quarterly newsletter for truckers called InGear and offers numerous resources for loss control, safety and instruction.

“I look forward to working with Acuity’s trucking clients,” Johnson said. “With over thirty years in the transportation sector as both a company driver and as an owner and manager of a trucking company, I have had experience that helps me understand truckers’ concerns first-hand [and gives me] detailed knowledge of transportation regulations and [an] insurance loss control background to answer any questions that arise.”

His career began with hauling logs for paper mills and fuel for electrical power generation plants in northern Wisconsin. Johnson has held numerous positions, including serving truckers with Great West Casualty Company in loss control, and has managed his own trucking business. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in business risk control.

Chad Krueger, senior loss control representative for Acuity, introduced Johnson to the members of the press today, noting that his experience and knowledge of the trucking industry make him a valuable new addition to the company, which employees more than 1,000 people across 23 states.
