ATA elects Duane Long chairman

Oct. 13, 2014

Duane Long has been elected chairman of the American Trucking Assns. (ATA). Long, chairman of Raleigh, NC-based Longistics, was named during the association’s annual meeting last week in San Diego. He is the 70th chairman of ATA and replaces Phil Byrd, president of Bulldog Hiway Express.

“I am honored that my fellow ATA members have shown tremendous faith in me to trust me with such a remarkable opportunity,” Long said. “Our industry and our association are both poised for great things in the coming years and I’m humbled to have been chosen to lead ATA through this time.”

“I have great faith in Duane and tremendous confidence that he will be an outstanding chairman,” said ATA President and CEO Bill Graves. “His energy and enthusiasm will serve ATA and our industry very well this year.”
