The Society of Fleet Supervisors (SFS) will hold its next meeting on November 19 at the Pompei Ristorante, located on Long Island in West Hempstead, NY. The featured speaker will be David Cullen, executive editor of FleetOwner.

The gathering will kick off with cocktails at 6 pm followed by a dinner and meeting program starting at 7 pm. The cost is $35 for SFS members and $45 for other attendees.

Cullen will discuss how technology is driving trucking forward by surveying the impact high-tech solutions are having on spec’ing and maintaining trucks, managing drivers and on the development of new regulations.

While covering the trucking industry exclusively for over 33 years, Cullen has received numerous journalism awards, including the American Society of Business Publication Editors’ Stephen Barr Award for Excellence in Feature Writing and American Business Media’s Jesse H. Neal Award for Outstanding Journalism.

Founded in 1945 in New York City, the Society of Fleet Supervisors aims “to promote efficient fleet operations through the exchange of ideas and experiences in the selection and training of personnel, supervisory techniques, maintenance, production, safety, labor relations, plant layouts, supplies and equipment, insurance and related subjects.”

The organization also seeks “to improve the prestige and image of its members through training, education, public relations and increased exposure to all facets of the transportation industry.”
