• Fleetmaster Express boosts driver pay, enhances benefit package

    Fleetmaster Express, a Roanoke, VA-based carrier operating over 300 trucks and 1,400 trailers, said it is instituting a 10% boost in pay for over-the-road drivers. All drivers will receive a pay increases of varying amounts, the fleet said.

    Fleetmaster Express provides over the road, local, and dedicated hauling as well as freight brokerage, warehousing and spotting services from 13 terminals.

    The company also recently increased its benefits package, including enhancements to driver detention pay, holiday pay, and 401(k) program.

    “Our driver pay has just increased by more than 10 percent, which is very exciting, and starting in March, we’ll be adding even more value to our benefits package,” said Travis Smith, COO. “Our drivers work hard and deserve any increases in pay or benefits we can provide. We appreciate their outstanding service and are happy to reward them wherever and however we can.”
