Here is a look at what is happening in the world of transportation this morning:

• Daimler Trucks North America is recalling 2,386 Freightliner Cascadia trucks manufactured between Oct. 6, 2014, and Feb. 16, 2015, because of potentially faulty service brakes, according to Trucking News Online.

• Truck and road safety will be the topic of an upcoming symposium at The Center for Transportation Research at the University of Texas, KXAN news reported.

• “Revenge of the Nerds” star Robert Carradine was fined for crashing into a tractor-trailer on a Colorado Highway back in March, according to ABC 7News in Denver.

• During its first quarter of 2015, TAB Bank has distributed $17.1 million in trucking equipment loans to 33 transportation companies, according to a report in the Monitor Daily.

• The U.S. Department of Transportation has made $500 million available for transportation projects under the Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery grant program, Trucking News Online reported.

• The Postal Service seeks to replace its ‘aging fleet’ with one that is more high-tech, according to the Federal Times.
