East names new national platform fleet sales manager

East Manufacturing appointed Douglas Kenney as National Platform Fleet Sales Manager. In his new role, Kenney will have responsibility for fleet sales in North America, specializing in East’s flatbed and drop deck trailer sales, the company said.“Doug’s ability to achieve results is an asset as we continue to focus on growing our fleet customers,” said Bill McKenzie, director of platform products and fleet sales. “We are fortunate and happy to have Doug on board.”Reporting to McKenzie, Kenney will be working throughout North America, with his primary emphasis on U.S. sales, according to East. In addition, he will be responsible for reporting market trends, customer needs and feedback as well as assisting in East’s efforts to recruit dealers in unassigned territories.Kenney has 34 years in the trailer industry, having begun his career in 1981 at Fruehauf Trailer. With both manufacturing and dealer expertise, East said Kenney has extensive trailer sales experience. He comes to East with six years at Great Dane Trailers.Prior to Great Dane, he was vice president fleet sales at Trailmobile, where he was responsible for major leasing national accounts and high-profile fleet customers. In 2004, Kenney joined Hale Trailer Brake and Wheel as branch manager of their Springfield, Mass., branch. He has also held positions at Dorsey Trailer and Doug Kenney Trailer Sales in addition to over 10 years at Fruehauf, East said.
