Con-way promotes Jill Bixby to VP of western area sales

Con-way Freight announced that Jill A. Bixby has been promoted to vice president of western area sales. A 17-year Con-way veteran, Bixby began her career with the company in 1998 as a customer service representative. She most recently served as director of sales, with responsibility for sales activities in the Pacific Northwest.In her new role, she oversees sales for Con-way Freight’s Western Area, which includes the 11 states in the western U.S., as well as North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Texas. Leading a team of over 130 sales professionals, her responsibilities as the region’s sales leader will include pricing and sales strategies, as well as staffing, performance management, customer acquisition, sales training and personnel development, the company said. Based in Portland, OR, she reports to Stephen F. Dean, senior vice president of sales for Con-way Freight.“Jill is an excellent complement to our executive team,” Dean said. “She is a seasoned sales professional whose insight and experience will provide strong leadership and development for our sales efforts in the Western Area. I’m pleased to congratulate Jill on this significant career milestone and look forward to her contributions.”
