Opponents to teen truck drivers mount renewed efforts to stop program and New York City oil company executives and truck drivers arrested for fraud

Here are five things worth knowing today:

1. While the House and Senate try to come up with a compromise highway bill, safety advocates have not given up their hopes that a final bill will deny teens as young as 18 from driving big rigs in interstate commerce. The Hill details their fight.

2. Executives, truck drivers and owners of some of New York City’s largest fuel oil companies have been arrested for allegedly rigging trucks to shortchange heating oil customers. DNAinfo has the story.

3. Want good gas mileage in your pickup? Then the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, or its twin GMC Canyon, diesel may be your choice. According to Automotive Magazine, the model has been tested and rated by EPA to get 31 mpg on the highway. Read more about it.
