Schmid appointed Mitsubishi Fuso’s director, product management

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America has named Otto Schmid its new director of product management.

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America has named Otto Schmid its new director of product management. Schmid has worked for the past eight years for Daimler AG in Germany and Japan, in various corporate and engineering functions, the company said.

According to Jecka Glasman, MFTA’s president and CEO, “We are looking forward to having Otto on our team. He has already worked on several projects with MFTA, and brings to his new position proven expertise in diesel engines, coupled with vast experience as a powertrain engineer. He has also served as an auditor, reviewing and analyzing a number of worldwide research and development projects.”

Schmid comes to MFTA directly from his position as NAFTA Project Lead at Customer Services for Daimler Trucks Asia, MFTA’s parent company. Prior to that assignment, he served for three years as lead field auditor in research and development for Daimler AG at its headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany. In his new role, Schmid will be based at MFTA’s headquarters in Logan Township, NJ.
