The now renamed John A. Roebling suspension bridge, completed in 1866, is the precursor to Roebling's more famous civil engineering project, the Brooklyn bridge. Linking Cincinnati OH and Covington KY, this bridge was built for one singular purpose: to haul freight faster, cheaper, and safer across the Ohio River.
