The Department of Transportation (DOT) is hosting 11 so-called “mega-region” forums this September and October to discuss the impact of future transportation demand outlined in its Beyond Traffic 2045 report issued back in February. DOT said those events are designed to “facilitate conversation and solicit feedback on key transportation trends and potential policy considerations.” The agency added that each forum aims to gather together citizens, elected officials, Metropolitan Planning Organizations, transportation industry partners, business owners, and community leaders so they can share their region-specific experience regarding transportation challenges.
