Back in 2010, the Love’s Travel Stop along I-40 in Oklahoma City was destroyed by a devastating tornado. Miraculously, none of the 80 or so people who took shelter inside the location were seriously injured.

In the immediate aftermath, Love’s vowed to rebuild the popular stop, and on May 15, the facility at Exit 166 was reopened.

“What happened four years ago was devastating to the store, but we’re fortunate that everyone was okay,” said Frank Love, co-CEO of Love’s Travel Stops. “We knew we were going to rebuild so that we could continue serving this great community, as well as professional drivers and travelers who rely on Love’s for a fast, clean and friendly place to stop.”

The rebuilt location is an 11,000 sq. ft. facility that is larger than the previous location and features all the benefits of Love’s stores, including an expanded fountain drink selection, fresh fruit, travel items, gift merchandise and two restaurants, McDonald’s and Subway.

An on-site Love’s Truck Tire Care center is available for professional drivers as well as 90 truck parking spaces, seven showers, bulk DEF, CAT scales, RFID cardless fueling technology and other amenities to serve professional drivers.

Love’s Fast-Fill CNG will be available later this summer.
