Most of us that are involved in the trucking industry – be we drivers, technicians, management, or even us who have been blessed enough to write about all of you – know how important trucks are to society. But for those not involved in the industry, the crucial role trucks play in the economy and people’s lives are not as well known. A new infographic from NextTruck tries to get the message across as to just how important trucks are in a modern society.

For instance, we see trucks everyday on the road, but did you know that there are 8.9 million people employed in trucking-related jobs, 3.5 million of those are truck drivers? UPS alone, employs 60,000 drivers. A typical driver logs 2,750 hours driving per year and more than 432 billion miles are logged each year by the nation’s truck drivers.
