But for those not involved in the industry, the crucial role trucks play in the economy and people’s lives are not as well known. A new infographic from NextTruck tries to get the message across as to just how important trucks are in a modern society.

But for those not involved in the industry, the crucial role trucks play in the economy and people’s lives are not as well known.

    A new infographic from NextTruck tries to get the message across as to just how important trucks are in a modern society.

    For instance, we see trucks everyday on the road, but did you know that there are 8.9 million people employed in trucking-related jobs, 3.5 million of those are truck drivers? UPS alone, employs 60,000 drivers. A typical driver logs 2,750 hours driving per year and more than 432 billion miles are logged each year by the nation’s truck drivers.
