Sights and sounds from TMC

Shows such as the annual meeting of the 2014 Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) are often quite busy and packed with more exhibits and informative sessions illustrating topics such as the impact of current and future fuel efficiency regulations than one person can really absorb in just a few days.

For starters, click here and here to see some of the sights from TMC’s trade show floor – everything from the latest highway tractors on down to vehicle lights and everything in between.

Phil Byrd – president and CEO of Bulldog Hiway Express and current chairman of the American Trucking Assns. trade group, TMC’s parent organization – gave an interesting speech regarding the complex challenges facing the trucking industry. All sorts of interesting products abound in TMC’s exhibit hall, so here’s a closer look at two of them. First up is Flow Below, a unique wheel-cover aerodynamic system for highway tractors:

Next, take a look at a tractor height control system developed by Hadley that aims to ease the process of hooking up to trailers:
