EPA is issuing its final rule to remove trucks’ greenhouse gas regulations

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced its final rule to revoke the 2009 endangerment finding and its subsequent mobile greenhouse gas emissions standards.

The rule is not available in the Federal Register as of the time of writing. However, it likely proposes to repeal all heavy-duty trucks’ greenhouse gas standards, including the incoming GHG Phase 3 rule that would have affected Model Year 2027 trucks.

FMCSA makes another attempt to tighten non-domiciled CDLs

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is issuing a final rule in another attempt to tighten the issuance of non-domiciled CDLs. By mid-May, the rule would drastically limit states’ ability to issue non-domiciled licenses. FMCSA expects the rule would, over the course of about five years, remove 194,000 non-domiciled drivers.

TCA's next president will be Jim Mullen

The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) announced its next president: Jim Mullen will take the position, effective April 6.

In fuel this week, diesel prices rose by 1 cent

The national average on-highway diesel price grew to $3 dollars and 69 cents per gallon, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA).
