TCI Solutions Inc has formed TCI Hometown Solutions, a new business unit that will develop and market packaged store and headquarters systems to North America's 12,000-plus small grocery chains and independents.

Gary W Rhyne, an industry veteran with more than 30 years' grocery experience, will report directly to Lance Jacobs, TCI chairman and chief executive officer, as leader of the new unit. Formerly vice-president of retail technology solutions at Fleming Companies Inc, Rhyne was responsible for setting strategic direction and managing store and enterprise systems for 4,000 Fleming-supplied stores, company-owned and independent retail stores for the past 10 years.

TCI Hometown Solutions will market packaged store and headquarters systems through wholesaler and dealer partnerships.
